2024/25 STATE LEAGUE D1 AND WOMEN’S LEAGUE D1 SCHEDULE NOW LIVE

Baseball SA is gearing up for an exciting 2024/25 season, as baseball returns across all levels and communities in South Australia. From social laughs to high-level battles, the upcoming season promises action-packed games and events that bring together players, fans, and families from across the state.

With State, Women and Youth leagues ready to deliver thrilling matchups and community-driven initiatives, this season is set to build on the spirit of camaraderie and competition that makes South Australian baseball so special.

“New year, new season!,” stated Operations and Introductory Pathways Manager, Giang Danh, “I’m excited to see which team takes home the State League and Women’s League premiership.”

Giang went on to say, “With the introduction of Games of the Round and more teams playing at West Beach, I feel it will bring some extra thrill to the year." West Beach will play host to seven Games of the Round with each ‘home team’ getting to take over the ground for the day.

This season is especially significant for two of South Australia’s most historic clubs. Henley & Grange will celebrate its 80th year, while Southern Districts marks its 75th anniversary. These milestones add even more meaning to an already memorable season.

The action begins with a bang in Round 1, where Golden Grove Central Districts and Kensington will square off in the Darren Jolley Cup, setting the tone for a fierce competition. The season will also feature a number of other major rivalries, including the Bevis Cup (Kensington vs. East Torrens) in Round 4, the Scott Marshall Memorial Game (Northern Districts vs. Port Adelaide) in Round 6, and the Horrocks Cup (Southern Districts vs. Glenelg) also in Round 6.  We will see the grand final rematch take place in Round 2 between Sturt and Henley & Grange at Sturt.

In addition to the usual lineup of rivalry cups spread throughout the season, clubs have curated an exciting range of theme rounds. One standout is Port Adelaide, who will once again host their Indigenous Round when they face off against West Torrens.

Round 3 will see the entire competition unite for the Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation Community Round, an initiative that raises awareness and supports mental health research in partnership with Baseball SA.

The Women's League also reaches an important milestone in 2024/25, celebrating its 10th season. The league continues to grow in popularity, with an 18-game season on the horizon. For the first time, twilight baseball will be introduced for the Women's League, for three rounds.

An exciting update being the addition of two new teams to the Women’s Division 1 League with Kensington and Henley & Grange. These two teams will be warmly welcomed to the competition by the community.

Baseball SA is on the lookout for someone keen to gain experience in journalism or a related field, to voluntarily cover the Women’s Division 1 competition throughout the season. If you are interested or would like more information, please contact Molly at molly.brown@baseballsa.org.au.

With a dynamic combination of twilight games, traditional rivalries, milestone celebrations, and community-themed events, the 2024/25 South Australian Baseball League is set to be a season to remember for fans and players alike.
