BREAKTHROUGH ROUND IS BACK FOR 2024/25 SEASON
Baseball SA are joining forces once again with the Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation for another impactful Community Round! This year, the round will take place during State League Round 3, from October 25th to 27th. Strategically scheduled to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Month, this round aims to amplify our efforts in promoting mental health within our community.
Weโre kicking things off with an information session designed to bring our community together, learn more about mental health, and explore ways to get involved. Jade and Sharna from Breakthrough will walk us through the fundraising portal, resources, and other materials, providing insight into the Foundationโs incredible work.

Weโre also excited to partner with our Women's League Sponsor, Belgravia Apparel, to offer purple socks for clubs to purchase and wear during this round, further raising awareness and support.
โThis initiative is an excellent opportunity for our community to come together, support mental health awareness, and make a positive impact through the sport we all love,โ says Molly, Membership, Events, and Marketing Manager at Baseball SA. โWe did such a great job last year raising awareness and fundsโI think we can well and truly beat last yearโs goal of $2,000!โ
1 in 4 Australian are impacted by mental helath issues at some point in their life - there is a chance that someone you know is being impacted as we speak!
This round impacts everyone in the community in different ways! It may be as simple as having conversations with teammates that benefit an individual or two. As for a club as a whole, those who raise $500 or more will have the chance to have two representatives access vital Mental Health First Aid training FOR FREE and those that raise $1500 can have their own personal club training night for as many as they can squeeze in their doors!! Overall the money raised will go to 4 keys areas that Breakthrough Mental Health Health Research look into; Aboriginal Mental Health, Childrenโs Mental Helath, Eating Disorders and Depression.
Mental health is a crucial topic that can be challenging for many. Letโs be mindful of one another and offer support wherever possible. If you or someone you know needs help, please visit: Breakthrough Foundation โ Get Help Now or check out the Health & Wellbeing Resources on our website.
