School Sports 18U & Under Information
Nominations are now open for the 2025 18 Years and Under Baseball State Team (formeraly known as ‘school-boys’), offering a remarkable opportunity for high school students across South Australia to showcase their talents on a national stage. The selected team will represent the state at the School Sport Australia Baseball Championships, scheduled to take place in Perth from 27 April to 3 May 2025.
Eligibility Criteria:
Age Requirement: Students must be 18 years or younger as of 31 December 2025, specifically those born between 2007 and 2012.
School Enrollment: Nominees must be enrolled at an affiliated school within South Australia.
Nomination Process:
Interested students should submit their nominations by 4:00 PM on Friday, 14 February 2025. Detailed information on the nomination process and trial dates can be found on the School Sport SA website.
Selection and Commitment:
Selected team members are expected to attend all team trainings and participate fully in the championship, including the opening and closing ceremonies and any scheduled educational excursions. It's important to note that selection requires endorsement from the student's school principal before confirming their place in the team. Therefore, families are advised to await this confirmation before making any travel or accommodation arrangements.
Financial Considerations:
The anticipated cost to School Sport SA is approximately $700, which includes levies for championship participation and training expenses. If selected, a $100 deposit is required to confirm the position in the team. Uniform costs are estimated to be around $500, depending on the number of items ordered. Additionally, families are responsible for accommodation, flights, meals, daily transport, and personal spending money, which will not appear on the invoice from School Sport SA.
