GET INVOLVED IN PORT ADELAIDE MIRACLE LEAGUE
The Miracle League of Port Adelaide removes the barriers that keep children with a disability off the baseball field, and lets them experience the joy of baseball. The Miracle League is about making new friends, building self-esteem and being treated just like other athletes.
The Miracle League of Port Adelaide is open to children with a disability, ages 4 to 16. Games will be played Sunday afternoons (between 12.30pm and 3pm) in September.
Miracle League games are two innings and last approximately 45 minutes. Every player bats (from a Tee), circles the bases, fields and scores each inning. Miracle League Athletes are paired with a volunteer buddy who acts as a one-on-one friend and helper. We encourage each player to do as much as they can on their own, and the buddies help with the rest!
Each Miracle League player is assigned a buddy for each game. The buddy is there to protect the player from balls, assist the player in batting and running the bases, and to be a friend on and off the field. Buddies receive a Miracle League shirt for their participation. Once you participate, you will see that being a buddy allows you not only to make a difference in a playerβs life, but also to create a positive awareness in yourself.
Cost: Registration is $20 per child, and includes Playing Top, hat, insurance and all equipment provided, thanks to our amazing sponsors and supporters.
